A long, long time ago on a walk to a grocery store not too far away…
I was wearing shoes that were not quite a right fit, and riding a bike that was and is not quite big enough, these little things contributed to a little click, crumple in my left hip, that up until a couple of days ago was an unnoticed, but all-consuming source of discomfort and bad mood, grumpy mood.
It really got the best of me, the small, subtle pain. I didn’t ever think it would, but it did.
Yesterday I was just walking to the grocery store minding my own business when ABRACADABRA #SCIATICA PAIN took over my life. #thepainisreal I always thought I wanted to experience everything life has to offer, but THIS pain is off the #BucketList. Sitting, standing, walking, laying, sneezing, burping and I’m sure a few other activities all hurt the lower back / upper butt like an electrified dagger dipped in #ghostpepper sauce is being jammed in there. Time to re-embrace the #squats #yoga #rumbleroller and other #mobility activities I used to do #posteriorchain pain is not for me. Cowabunga it hurts.
Fortunately, the other day, my sciatic nerve was released from between the Piriformis and everything slid in place. This is too rare and good an opportunity to not take advantage of.
So, I am about to push through what I consider to be a relatively small amount of discomfort and crush some muscles, nerves and tendons while I can tolerate it. I am feeling much better and the goal is to stay that way, whatever it takes.
Mobility, never really fun to do, but always seems worthwhile in the end. So, in reference to my favorite movie of all time, “To the pain!”
