The Würzburger Residenzlauf Was Our First Fun Run Since Moving To Wuerzburg.

Our kids joined in on the Würzburger Rezidenzlauf (Residence Run facebook.com/residenzlauf) with their school and I guess the rest of the city to “mach Sport” this weekend. The Residenz is a fairly huge and impressive building with a sprawling garden downtown Wuerzburg.

The Residenz is a fairly huge and impressive building with a sprawling garden downtown Wuerzburg. Though it’s sheer size and subtle elegance demand to be noticed within moments of your first glance it is hard to tell what exactly the building could be used for. When I looked on Wikipedia I read the Residenz is actually a palace that Napoleon referred to as the “nicest parsonage in Europe.”

The Wikipedia article fails to mention that part of the movie The Three Musketeers was filmed there as well, (a real-life Würzburger told me that not-so-secret-secret) I found this video on YouTube so you can get an idea of how big the building is and just imagine the garden
